For the second attempt at cooking, photographing and eating - desert time!
Made a Nutter Butter Peanut Butter Pie recipe by RecipeGirl
I only accidentally skipped one line while working through the recipe and was able to go back and complete it without ruining it. Still made a couple unnecessary utensils and bowls dirty, but that comes with making things in the kitchen.
Needed to do a bit more with accessories, but I was playing around too much with new lights and light tent.
The pie was well received by co-workers and family, so consider it a success.
Taste of Home Cookbook, Pueblo Green Chile Stew
I need to cut the pork smaller next time, it listed 1.5” cubes which I cut too big. Everything else went swimmingly, super easy to bring together and cleanup. Can’t beat browning meat then just dumping the rest in and waiting for the results. My only mistake was starting to warm up the pot before I had finished the prep work, got into crunch time dealing with browning the meat while simultaneously chopping vegetables. The dutch oven was new (as well as the place mats) and was worried after I started that it wouldn’t be big enough, but it just made it.
First time with the food photography and have a lot to learn and experiment with. I have a light tent and lights coming which will help with parts. Just starting the search for attractive containers for ingredients. Have to work on the lighting by the stove the most. Still, managed to cook, photograph and eat and I will get better with time.
